The Director of Rehab Services is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, the daily operations of the department. Participates in strategic planning, develops business and operational plans and goals for areas and specific programs and services. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Manages staff and provides coaching and training for growth and development. Assures competency of all personnel. Integrates services with other departments in the organization. Ensures department compliance with state and federal laws, accreditation, professional and regulatory agency standards and licensure requirements. Responsible for the area’s budget preparation, labor and supply cost management, and revenue enhancement. Develops and implements system of reviewing department charges, ensures that patient charges are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Evaluates department performance versus budget and takes appropriate action to remain in budget guidelines. Establishes patient assessment processes and treatment care plans for given patient population. Supervises the delivery of patient care and continuous improvement of clinical and service quality. Serves as a liaison and resource for medical staff, other personnel, partnering care facilities, community groups, local and national organizations, for optimizing collaborative efforts, workflow, patient satisfaction/engagement outcomes and patient advocacy.
• Bachelor’s Degree, in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy (required)
• Master’s Degree (preferred)
5 years - Experience working in physical , occupational, speech therapy providing direct patient care. (required)
3 years - Management responsibilities including supervisory experience for physical, occupational, speech therapy staff. (required)
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage people including selecting, developing and retaining people to meet area objectives.
Demonstrated fiscal management skills to prepare, monitor and control budgets, reduce expenses and generate increased revenues.
Experience and knowledge of regulatory, legal and policy issues as they relate to effective area management.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills to write business communications, and effectively impart information at staff meetings.
Current California License as Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Therapist (required)
Current BCLS certification
